CE22: Using SQL Replication

Code: CE22
Duration: 3 days

Description

This course is designed to provide you the ability to use DB2 SQL Replication to perform data replication activities between IBM relational database systems, and also between IBM relational database systems and other non-IBM relational systems. This course will also teach you how to perform the IBM Replication operations to define, manage, and maintain data replication functions for DB2 for z/OS and DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows. Included are lectures and several intensive hands-on machine exercises with DB2 SQL Replication on Windows workstations using DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  • Set up a DB2 Federated database in order to use InfoSphere Federated Server to replicate to non-IBM relational database systems
  • Use DB2 SQL Replication to perform data replication activities in both a multiplatform and a multivendor environment
  • Register source tables and define subscriptions using the DB2 Replication Center
  • Describe DB2 SQL Replication basic components and control tables
  • Operate the various components of DB2 SQL Replication
  • Use DB2 Replication Center to perform basic administration of sources and subscriptions
  • Discuss basic replication performance considerations
  • Identify the problem determination facilities of DB2 SQL Replication

Audience

This is an intermediate course for system administrators, database administrators, replication administrators, data warehouse architects, programmers, users, IBM professionals, and other individuals desiring an SQL based replication architecture. This includes all individuals who perform or support evaluation, implementation, and usage activities for data movement, data availability, and data replication.
